Hidden Treasures

While organizing my storage closet, I found this box of Kansas Troubles scraps.  I was so excited because I was trying to figure out how to do the Craftsy Block of the Month without spending any money.

That was one of my New Years promises to Darren...I wouldn't spend any money on NEW projects until I finish the UFOs that are hiding around the house.

I found a baggie of light & dark triangles.

I chained them.  I pressed them.  I organized them by color.

Now I have a bunch of small (maybe 2") half-square triangles.

So, with that done, I started my January blocks.

...The Asterisk Block...

...The Wonky Pound Sign Block...

I'm not a big fan of the slash and stitch method...I'm just a little too "Type A" and it makes me crazy when I can't get everything to line up.

I also make a few mini design boards.  These are so easy and I found them at A Bee In My Bonnet.  I made 6 10" boards and 2 15" boards.  I will finish them later this week, I hope. It's been a busy day around here...and it's a good thing Darren & the kids brought me Krispy Kreme donuts!

I just love those guys!

  2. Christine, I found the link on your blog. Thanks! I am going to try and make a bunch to keep my Craftsy BOM from getting distorted before we piece them together.

    1. How awesome is that...Nice to hear people use my links too :) YEAH!!! I tried to send you an email to thank you for your support for my upcoming test, but you are setup as a NO-reply blogger, you probably won't hear back from anyone when you comments, unless you change that setting. :( I appreciate you becoming a follower on my blog too :) Thank you for the support and the compliment :)

  3. "That was one of my New Years promises to Darren...I wouldn't spend any money on NEW projects until I finish the UFOs that are hiding around the house" ... my mom should make this promise to my dad. We could make dozens of quilts (the tops, at least) from what she has stashed around the house. "Oh it was on clearance" or "Isn't is just beautiful" is how the fabric gets into the house ... then she says that it's going to be for [insert project name here]. Still haven't seen half of those projects completed ...... ;)

    1. How funny! I looked through my smallish stash and found at least 3 potential projects that could be started since I have collected at least 4 co-ordinating fabrics for each one. I just need to get a few more yards. Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hi! I found your blog on "People I want to Punch in the Throat". I am also a quilter, so I am going to love reading your blog! I haven't made one in awhile, but I have many on "back log". I know your blog is going to inspire me to get back at it!

    Take care,
    Jennifer
