WIP Wednesday 4/18/2012

I will be linking up with Freshly Pieced for today's WIP Wednesday.

I'm trying desperately to get back on track with my blogging.

Today I will be cutting all of my Sow A Long blocks...I am Sow far behind right now...but we are going to fix that today!

I did manage to FINISH the Fun & Done!

Updates on my other WIPs:

Morgan's Sampler (No Progress)

Kristi's T shirt Quilt (Progress!)  I have all of the shirts stabilized and cut into oddly sized squares.  Now to start shopping for fabric to put it all together.

Kerrington's Quilt (Progress!)  The 4square blocks are pieced and trimmed.  The alternating 5" squares are cut.  And the first 5 rows are stitched.

Craftsy BOM (minimal progress) I have the paper hexies cut out and about half of them basted.  They are in a small travel box that goes everywhere with me.  I also need a trip to the quilt shop for more background fabric.  *Happy! Happy!*  Love shopping for my Kansas Troubles stash!

Cinnamon & Nutmeg (No Progress)

Bags (3) (No Progress) Still trying to get the final finishing stitches in.

Table Runner-a hand quilting project (No Progress)  But I have been thinking about it a lot!
( I was going to put up a picture, but it appears that my computer has the protective pseudo-card stuck.  The last time this happened it took me a while to get it un-stuck.  Hopefully I can get it removed by tomorrow...)

Jelly Roll Jive-a hand quilting quilt-sized project (No Progress)

Pinwheels in my Garden (No Progress)

Guild Placemats (Not started)

Connecting Threads Perfect Points Class (did the first lesson...but then nothing)

FPPFTT (Progress!)  Finished the first lesson.  Printed the templates for the second lesson.

Scrappy Plates (No Progress) I do have all of my supplies, though.

I've got to get busy if I'm going to make any kind of progress on those Sow A Long blocks!

Have a good one!

Bits & Pieces

It's been busy...
Soccer season takes over my life twice a year.
I have been working on a couple of projects, and neglecting several more.

Perhaps today, I will get my pieces cut for Barrister's Sow A Long.  She keeps posting wonderful bonus blocks...which I LOVE, really I do; but I am so far behind at this point that I don't think I will ever get caught up.  Maybe I will just focus on the main blocks and come back later to get the bonus ones.

So, here are a few pictures of what I've been working on...
Sock yarn guage...I want to knit a pair of socks!

Foundation Paper Piecing for the Terrified at The Littlest Thistle Block 1

Kerrington's Quilt
While working on Kerrington's Quilt, I found out that a steamed stink bug (remember those critters?) smells a lot like boiled cabbage.  Not a favorite of mine.  I removed another 3 dozen bugs the other night.  Not sure what I'm going to do with this one:

Kristi's T shirt Quilt
I will be taking my hexies for the Craftsy BOM to the soccer game tonight.  I'm also hoping to get to Classic Quilt Shop before the game...problem is I'll be with Darren and Thing 1 & 2...not always the wisest choice.  I did hear that the little shop downtown decided not to close.  So maybe I will just pop over there on my way to the library.  I need to find the fabric for Kristi's T shirt Quilt.

Sew Long!

Oh, if you get a chance, check out the Table Topper Blog Hop.  It started yesterday, but there are some wonderful projects out there!

Enjoy!

BOMs Away 4/9/12

It's Monday!
I'm linking up with Lynn over at What a Hoot!;  I haven't been able to do much work on my quilts now that soccer season has started, but I hope to get organized today so that I have some projects that can travel with me.
The only project that has seen any productive activity is the Craftsy Block of the Month
I have all of my hand work in a little box and it has been to at least 4 practices so far.
I even have a few that are basted.
This is my first time working with Hexies.
I kinda like 'em!
Today's plan is to finally finish the Fun & Done!
The younger kids are at Gram & Paps and the Hubby is home so all I have to do is get the kitchen table cleaned off and get busy!

Have a good one!

Guess I'm not the Only One...(or BOMs 3/27/2012)

I missed Monday.
I missed my update on my BOMs.
I guess I'll blame it on this crazy weather.
We went from 70's & 80's to an overnight low of mid 20's.
Even though I have my own extreme mood swings, I just can't accept it when the weather does the same thing!

So, now that Lyn is up with her BOMs Away linky, (she missed Monday too) I guess I will get on with my update.

I haven't done anything more with Morgan's Sampler.  Just the 7 blocks completed.

Craftsy was caught up last week.

Barrister's Blocks are coming along.  I was just about caught up when Randy posted another 3 blocks.  Which means that I have 9 blocks finished for 2 separate quilts.  I am doing 1 in the reds, tans & browns that I am using for my Cinnamon & Nutmeg and another in Civil War reproductions.

I also started the tutorial at The Littlest Thistle.  Foundation Paper Piecing for the Terrified.  This is my first paper piecing project.

Loopy Stitches...Is this because I'm sewing through paper?

NEW! Kerrington's Quilt
I started a quilt for my niece in CA.  She will be 2 on Friday.  I don't think I will get it to her in time for her birthday, but maybe for Easter...

Scrappy Plate Club Dresden Fabric
I also managed to get two more rows top stitched on the Fun & Done.  That leaves me 2 rows of blocks to top stitch, then attaching the rows to each other, top stitching those and finishing the binding once all of the rows are attached.  I'll finish it eventually...

I am hoping to get a lot of work done today since we have another Field Trip tomorrow.  The big kids have an early dismissal on Thursday so we might be headed out to the movies and Saturday is interpreter training at the frontier fort that I volunteer at.  It's gonna get busy!

Have a good one!
