Casting On...

SOCKS!  I want to knit SOCKS!  I know that I need to become familiar if not efficient in purling, knitting in the round...perhaps even comfortable working with DPNs, but I WANT TO DO IT NOW!

I finished a scarf for Morgan in November...no biggie...

I finished an eyelash scarf for my MIL for Christmas, again...no biggie...
(I forgot to get a pic of that one.)

I am currently working on a hat (my first attempt to knit with circular needles) and it is going well.  The twins are even willing to model for me...

...although the yarn is not to their liking.  It's a good thing this one will be for their cousin.

BUT...I WANT TO KNIT A PAIR OF SOCKS!!

Maybe tomorrow...

Bread is bread...

It's raining outside, I can see that Meredith has forgotten her West Virginia history book for school. There was only half a cup of coffee left in the pot (I used full sugar & creamer, but it was just right for Morgan).  Morgan's request for French Toast is accompanied by her complaining that French Toast should be made out of bread...NOT hamburger buns.  Darren insists that "bread is bread"!

Darren finally makes the "real" french toast.

John gets to be the Guinea Pig...he likes the "hamburger french toast" but says that it is a little burned on the bottom.

French Toast a la Hamburger
So, I guess John is the only one that can say..."Bread is bread."  ...or not.

You Gotta Start Somewhere...

Today I decided to start a blog.  I have no idea what I am doing.  It will be a work in progress.

Anyway, I am hoping to upload stories and pictures of my quilts, my spinning and weaving projects, knitting, crocheting, as well as Darren's knives, sheaths & holsters.  He stitches in leather, I stitch in fiber.  And the kids and animals keep us both in stitches.

A lot of the blogs will be past projects with current ones mixed in...I'll try to remember to define each one as it gets posted.

So, there you have it...my very first blog post...
