Red White & Blue...Day 2

I know.
I've taken several days off...
...but I've been getting ready for this great
Red White & Blue Blog Hop hosted by Jane's Fabrics and Quilts
(Please Hop on over to her blog for a complete listing of the other R/W/B bloggers.)

When I signed up to join the Hop, I had in mind to use some of my left over 1.5" Prairie Paisley (the original) half square triangles.

Here is what I came up with:
I've been wanting to do this for a while.

This one was inspired by the June 2012 over of American Patchwork & Quilting.

Then, I went to my current favorite book...
Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts by Pam & Nicky Lintott
I love that the blocks in this one are organized by size and they have a wonderful variety!
"Garden Trail"
"Maple Star"
"Union Square"

It's my plan to make a table runner from these three blocks before the 4th of July rolls around...I know, I'm running out of time!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy the Hop (it's just getting started!)
And please keeping on hopping...
Here are the other bloggers that have some great things to show you today!

July 2nd
And if you stop by Jane's you can find the complete list of ALL the links for this amazing Blog Hop!
There are at least 100!
(That should keep you busy for a while!)

WIP Wednesday...Sort of...

Well...
It's Wednesday.
I have several Works In Progress.
So, I am going to link up with Freshly Pieced  for their WIP Wednesday.

There are so many "irons in the fire" around here that I just don't know where to start.
I haven't actually managed to do much sewing/quilting but that doesn't mean I don't have any ongoing projects.
I have signed up to participate in several different blog activities.
First, I signed up for the Blogger's Quilt Festival!
(I really need to learn how to put a button here!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!)

Then, I signed on to participate in the Red, White & Blue Blog Hop hosted by Jane & Madame Samm!
Here's a little peek at some of what I am tossing around...
You'll have to come back in July to see what I finally decide to do!

I'm also signing up for May's YesterYear Challenge hosted by Christine over at Quilt Monster in my Closet.  You can join in...on May 5th, I will be working on my Cinnamon & Nutmeg quilt.  It's not really old, but I did start to collect the fabric in February 2009.
And speaking of my favorite Quilt Monster, I won a table topper from Christine!
During the Table Topper Blog Hop, I told her that my favorite of her table toppers was I Heart Love Notes!
And her Mr. Fantastic chose me to be a winner!
You can still hop over and see all of Christine's table toppers.  They are beautiful!
And Madame Samm has them all collected here.

I'm also getting my ugly fabric ready for the In the Bag Ugly Fabric Quilt Challenge.  I have been emailed my swap partner's information and I'm really excited to get our fabric swapped and start trying to figure out what to do with the new "uglies"!
You can visit my partner at her blog Kinda Quilty.

Well, the kids are begging for the computer so they can get their homework done, so I'm gonna be a good Mommy and let them get busy...

Have a good one!

Upcoming Events!

I am so excited!
I am going to be participating in some fun activities!
I have signed up for my first Blog Hop...with Madame Samm & Jane!
I am also going to be participating in the Blogger's Quilt Festival.
AND...I signed up to participate in the "In the Bag! Ugly Fabric Quilt Challenge".

All of the buttons are on the right side of my blog posts.
Right there at the top.
I think all of them are still open if you are interested.

My poor little brain is just about wore out thinking of all of the possibilities for these projects.  I need to get busy making notes, and creating lists, and writing my quilt story, and shopping for fabrics, and going through my stash...and who knows what else...
I'll keep you posted!
But, for now...
SLEEP!

'Night!

Influenced by the Table Topper Blog Hop

Ok!
Now that I've got you here.
This post really doesn't have anything to do with Table Toppers. But, you should hop over to Madame Samm's to see what's going on.

It actually has more to do with one particular post from the blog hop.
Patty over at A Stitch In Time posted a Table Topper with the Hatteras Lighthouse on it.
Now, I love visiting lighthouses and I love the Outer Banks.
So, today I will share with you some Excellent photos that we took in 2010 when we visited the northern 4x4 beaches!

This was by far the most talked about event that happened all week.  It frequently comes up in conversations and my daughter recently included it in one of her English presentations.

Are you creeped out yet?
We were!
But, I made them stop the car...we were out exploring the dunes...so that I could take pictures.
Then, we went back to the house and got the kids.
And took them to see this place.
Probably not the smartest thing to do...considering...
But, it was definitely the most fun of the entire trip!

Here are a couple of legitimate pictures of why we love the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

wild horses...this one actually had a baby the week we were there!
I am also linking up with Quilting by the River today!
Come check it out!
